The Township of H-B-M is currently seeking a full-time permanent Community Coordinator. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Community Coordinator supports community development initiatives within the Township and is responsible for tourism and economic development initiatives, engagement with volunteer organizations and community groups, and the coordination of community-based activities. This role identifies and promotes opportunities for relevant programming, community activities, business development, and tourism. The Community Coordinator represents the Township on county and inter-municipal committees and provides general administrative support while working collaboratively with residents, organizations, and partners to enhance overall community well-being.

Job Description - Planning Assistant
The Township of H-B-M is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Planner. Reporting to the Chief Building Official, the Planner will be responsible for interpreting and providing technical information, advice and assistance to Council, staff, developers, lawyers, the business community, and the public regarding land use planning matters. Other duties include advising on growth management, economic development, and performing a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility, including the review of building permit applications to ensure compliance with land-use planning legislation.
The ideal candidate will possess a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation.
The Township offers a comprehensive benefits package, enrollment in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) and competitive salary that corresponds with education, experience and working abilities.
While full qualifications will be an asset, less qualified candidates who may be working towards the RPP designation may be considered for the position of Planning Assistant with the opportunity for advancement.

Looking to give back to your community? Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Fire & Rescue is currently recruiting volunteer firefighters
The Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Fire & Rescue has a dedicated crew of volunteer firefighters that is committed to providing fire protection services to their local areas and the community.
Being a volunteer firefighter can be both rewarding and challenging, requiring you to dedicate time to respond to emergency calls and commit to many hours of training.
Volunteer firefighters play an important role in keeping the community safe from fire and other hazards. If you are dedicated, have excellent team work skills and good health and physical fitness then consider joining our team!
Volunteer firefighting is a great way to learn valuable skills, give back to your community and make extra income.
Basic Requirements
- A Valid Driver's License (minimum)
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Physically & Mentally able to perform tasks and duties of the job
- Able to commit to training
- Live and/or work in the response area
Becoming a Firefighter
- No previous experience is necessary to become a volunteer firefighter and volunteers train to professional standards.
- Volunteer firefighters are all ages, male and female, and come from many diverse backgrounds.
- Volunteers are paid on-call for their response, training and practices.
- All required personal protective equipment and training are provided, there are no out-of-pocket costs.
- Volunteer firefighters commit to two hours biweekly of training at their local fire hall.
